Mid 20th Century pair of plinth mounted Spaniel Style China Dogs.
- A medium size pair or predominately orange and white china King Charles Spaniels. Hand decorated in both sponged and painted orange ochre and copper lustre crackle glaze
- Plinth mounted on a rectangular recessed base plate with a single small exhaust hole suggests these were press molded composite figures. There is however no discernable difference between the two figures in size or appearance and no chain lead
- Research suggests this relatively common mold design is likely 1930s-1940s and while none appear to have ever been factory marked, these are probably Arthur Woods
- Both models are around 7-inch wide and 8.5-inch tall on base plates 5-7/8th-inch by 3.75-inch
- One small firing exhast hole in base
- Date range 1930-1940
- Nicely decorated in very colourful enamels
- Course crackle crazing gives a feeling of greater age
- Please note the sizes given. Sold as a pair.
